Are Mandy Moore and Shane West still friends?

I was watching A Walk to Remember the other day and I was thinking to myself that they are by far the cutest couple. This movie is a perfect love story. I cry every time I see it. I love it so much and I know I have absolutely no control over this, but I really was hoping that Mandy and Shane were still friends and that they keep in touch. They were so close in this movie and I lovelovelovelovelove it. They did such a wonderful job and it would be so sad to know that they don't keep in touch. This movie is such an amazing film and I love it even more every time I see the amazing chemistry that Shane and Mandy have.
