Is witness statements a form of proof?

My friend is suspended during an investigation and i no she has done nothing wrong, somebody has made and allegation against her and the manager has told her somebody was there what ever he ment?? She is worried that wintness statements will get her sacked no matter how much she fights her innocents. Please help cos im so worried for her!!!
