Would his mom be able to do anything to us?

My son's new boyfriend. Has a child. His parents kick both of them out. My husband and I allowed thm both to live with us. We brought everything for the baby and clothes and food for him. His parents found out. Could they sue us or take the baby away from us? We love her like are own granddaughter. My son treats her like it was his own.
